High-purity Multipurpose Fabric and Mineral Processing Aid Sodium Oleate
Sodium oleate, also known as oleic acid soap, is an anionic surfactant. It appears as a white to slightly yellow powder or light brownish-yellow coarse powder, with a special taste and odor. The melting point ranges from 232 to 235℃. In terms of solubility, it is soluble in water and shows alkalinity, soluble in ethanol showing neutrality, and insoluble in benzene. Based on these properties, sodium oleate is widely used in mineral processing, fabric waterproofing, soap making and other fields. It can not only be used as an anionic surfactant to exert interfacial activity, but also serve as a reliable fabric waterproofer, providing support for multiple industrial scenarios.

Mineral Processing Industry 
In complex mineral beneficiation processes, efficient separation of valuable minerals is critical for obtaining high-purity ore products. As a high-performance anionic collector, sodium oleate's solid-affinity groups selectively adsorb onto target mineral surfaces, altering their wettability. Meanwhile, its hydrophobic groups orient toward the aqueous phase, rendering the mineral surface hydrophobic. Take fluorite beneficiation as an example: fluorite particles carry a slight negative charge, allowing the cationic moieties of sodium oleate to form electrostatic and chemical bonds with active sites on the fluorite surface. This enhances the affinity between fluorite and air bubbles. During flotation, fluorite particles coated with sodium oleate readily attach to bubbles, rise to the pulp surface, and separate from gangue minerals. This property enables its widespread use in the purification of metals and non-metals, including oxidized lead-zinc ores and rare earth minerals. Precise control of dosage and addition timing significantly improves flotation efficiency, boosts recovery rates and concentrate grades, reduces processing costs, and maximizes resource utilization. 
Textile Processing 
Sodium oleate excels in fabric waterproofing applications. When applied to textiles, it reacts with hydroxyl groups on fiber surfaces to form a dense, continuous hydrophobic film. This "invisible armor" effectively repels water, keeping fabrics dry even under heavy rain or high humidity. Unlike conventional coatings, the film maintains breathability and softness by preserving the fabric's microporous structure, ensuring comfort during wear. This makes it ideal for outdoor gear (e.g.,,hiking tents) and industrial workwear. Additionally, as an emulsifier and detergent component, its amphiphilic nature penetrates grease, breaking it into tiny droplets for easy removal. This dual-action cleanser not only enhances stain removal but also provides mild fabric softening. 
Soap Manufacturing 
In soap production, sodium oleate is an essential traditional soap base. During saponification, it reacts with fatty acids in oils to form soap molecules with excellent detergency and foaming properties.
